Paris to Frieburg
I am now in germany visiting Kate. It took 3 trains and 4 hours to get here including a ride in a high speed train doing 220 Km. per hour. The trains here are fantasitic. They leave on time and arrive frequently. Kate and I have had several days of hiking. Yesterday we went to an area near the rhine that has a lot of vineyards and good walking trails. Spring has been here for a while, The trees are in full leaf and cherry trees are finished with their blossoms. Today we walked up into the Black forest above Frieburg and had coffee and cake at a forest restaurant( according to Kate Cake and Coffee on sunday afternoon is a German tradition)
Thunder Bay to Paris.
The flight was uneventful except for the fact that I flew buisness on the new AC777. In this plane you don´t have a seat you have a "pod". It is almost like a small room. You can recline to a position that is very close to a bed. The movies are good and the drinks better. On arrival in Paris I took the metro to my hotel and started sight seeing. A long walk down past the Arc de Triumph and down the Champs de Leyses.
The presentation went well with Dr. Ross retelling the Antarctica adventure. I think it was well received.
I did the required trip to the Louvre and the Eiffel tower. Both were very impreeive and I think it would take a week to do the Louvre justice . I really just scratched the surface.

Scuba diving in Cuba

Just got back from a week in Cuba. We stayed at Breezes Jibecoa. It is half way between Varadaro and Havana. A very beautiful spot lots of tennis with Ruth ,Gilles and Kenya
Great food ,walking and of course a few cocktails
Great snorkeling at this resort and I went Scuba diving. This is the first time I have dove since my transplant . I was a little worried but thanks to a little help from"Woody" a expert diver from canada I fumbled my way through. I wasn't sure how the new heart would react but there was no problem. We dove to 80 feet. Beautiful fish and coral.
The new heart has been tested fron 16000 to -80 and still keeps ticking.
